The Maezawa clans men were Shinto priests for centuries before the current one then in 1995 decided to build a new house on the original plot That house was 300 yrs old and from which I recycled into lumber some of the original posts and beams While I was there I was allowed to pick thru remains of unwanted items Most notable was a stone phallus representing a god or Kamisama of that religion and another was a candle holder of brass or bronze for sale from the altar of a previous shrine
